My brief - "Promoting and Sustaining Public Accountability Second African Congress of Accountants:- Promoting and Sustaining Public Accountability Public Accountability International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions ( INTOSAI) describes it as: " public accountability pertains to the obligations of persons or entities entrusted with public resources to be answerable for the fiscal, managerial and program responsibilities that have been conferred on them, and to report to those that have conferred these responsibilities". Second African Congress of Accountants:- Promoting and Sustaining Public Accountability Key Elements To ensure the safe custody of those resources; To ensure that when utilized, the resources are utilized solely for the intended purpose in an efficient, economic, and transparent manner; and To provide timely and accurate reports back to the public on the usage of the resources (feedback).
