SouthEast Texas Regional Advisory Council National Flood Workshop Houston Texas 2012 1 Purpose • Introduction of Regional Advisory Councils. • Regional Assets of Trauma Service Area – Q. • Mitigation of the loss of life and property through early meteorological predictions for Healthcare Communities. 2 What does the rest of the U.S. think when Texas says, Disaster? 3 4 • Texas is divided into 22 “Trauma Service Areas” or “TSA’s”. • Houston and surrounding 9 counties is TSA-Q or RAC Q: Austin, Colorado, Fort Bend, Harris, Matagorda, Montgomery, Walker, Waller, and Wharton counties. • South East Texas Regional Advisory Council (SETRAC) is the organization that is the “contractor” and administrator of ASPR, Trauma, County, and Tobacco settlement funds. These funds are utilized for a variety of purposes to include providing regional cooperative planning for Stroke, Trauma, Cardiac, and Healthcare Provider Preparedness programs. 5 • SETRAC is a non-profit company 501 (c)(3).
