De Franse filosoof Jean-Luc Nancy (1940)
is één van de toonaangevende
denkers in onze tijd, of het nu over politiek,
globalisering, literatuur,
schilderkunst of religie gaat. Zijn
omvangrijke oeuvre is vrijwel integraal
in het Engels vertaald. Hij zal in deze lezing
zijn spraakmakende project van
een ‘deconstructie van het christendom’
toelichten en de veelbesproken ‘terugkeer
van de religie’ kritisch onder de loep nemen.

‘Metamorphoses of Christianity
in Philosophy, Art and Literature’ a seminar with Jean-Luc Nancy
In response to four brief interventions by scholars inside and outside the
VU University of Amsterdam, Nancy will clarify his much discussed
investigations into the ‘deconstruction of Christianity‘ and analyze the
complex relation between religion and modern secularity in the 21st century
with the panel and the audience.
