The proposed centre will help in developing advanced research
& teaching facilities in Mining Technology in which new PG
programmes have recently been started.

LOCATION AND TIME SCHEDULE
• The Center of Excellence in Mining Technology (CEMT) will be
located initially within the Department of Mining Engineering,
ISM, Dhanbad premises.
• The expected time for starting the operations in the Centre
will be subject to the availability of funds and other approvals.
Gradual development of infrastructure will be planned for the
subsequent years for developing the centre to work
independently.

MODE OF PARTICIPATION
• The CEMT will be functioning with active participation of the
stakeholders in planning and development of target oriented
programs, which will include, inter alia:
– Invited lectures
– Workshops
– Exchange of faculty and students
– Visit to mines in Canada and India
– Conducting advanced industrial training, which are not
included in the present EDC programmes of ISM .
