Knowledge and experience
Anthony Veder has developed in close conjunction with TGE the
concept of a small scale LNG carrier
The Coral Methane has been in successful operation since 2Q 2009
for Gasnor and Skangass
This vessel is operated, maintained, crewed and kept in line with all
industry rules and regulations by ourselves
Current employment is in NW-Europe, large terminal and Ship to Ship
transfer experience

LNG during new building
How to deal with “new” legislation
• During design and new building
-
Rules are not defined
Rules interpretation
IMO; Class Rules; OCIMF; Flagstate
Knowledge of own personnel; class; yard and sub contractors
• Co-operation with the parties is of major importance
• Yard selection crucial
• Interfacing of components needs attention
• Gas zones in engine room in hull design

Conclusion
Piston cleanliness
Low amount of deposits on top land
Excellent cleanliness of ring lands, grooves and ring pack
Excellent piston under crown deposit formation control
Liner in excellent condition:
Minor discoloration
No signs of corrosion/bore polishing
Low wear on piston ring grooves, piston rings, liner,
bearings
Good cleanliness of cold engine parts (crankcase,
cambox,...) considering engine operational conditions
Stable natural oil consumption (54 liters/day)
Efficient oil purification is possible

LNG Operations
Operational experience
Engine control / interfaces are as simple as HFO
Gas consumption in line with engine specs
Time Between Overhaul is longer
Total Cost of Ownership is equal
For non gas operators
New building team requires special knowledge
Engineers need specialism
Safety precautions are VERY strict
Bunkering is a stand alone operation
Rules not yet defined for manning
