Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems (NGES) is a world
leader in the design, development and manufacture of advanced

WORTHWHILE To Help High School Youth
Vision:
WORTHY will encourage and
advance mentees’ pursuit of
technical degrees by providing
hands-on experiences and
improving access to postsecondary education
In so doing, the WORTHY
Program aims to cultivate a
technically capable workforce
that will prove to be of value to
Northrop Grumman and other
regional employers.
Program Overview
• Mentees visit once a month
• Paired with two mentors
• Monthly visits include:
Experience Corporate Environment
Exposure to technical careers
Year long project with mentors
Training classes
• Summer enrichment paid program
• Participate in an annual college visit
• Awarded multi-year college scholarship upon completion
of the program

Program Guidelines
Selection:
Excellent students with 3.0+ GPA (Public and Private)
College bound students interested in Math, Engineering, Computer Science
or Physics
Demonstrated leadership and extracurricular activities
Baltimore City high school student
Baltimore City Resident
Able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
On-going Expectations:
Maintain cumulative 3.0+ GPA
Attend all WORTHY sessions
Full engagement and participation during and between visits
Complete assignments
Attend accredited college/university and study in identified fields
WORTHY Summer Enrichment Program
Objective:
Develop WORTHY participant’s leadership, technical, and interpersonal skills
through engineering and community service based projects with a deliverable
presentation to the WORTHY Core Team
Location:
University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC)
Duration:
Six-week program (End of June through Early August)
