Thermotechnology has the greatest leverage to
reach the climate targets
• Three in four heating systems in Germany do not even
utilise the flue heat. This alone could reduce carbon
emissions by some 50 million tons per year
• The modernisation rate in Germany is below 1 percent,
i.e. it will take over 100 years for all buildings in
Germany to be modernised.
• Is Germany a pioneer in climate protection?
The issue of “tax depreciation of building modernisation“
should be addressed again after the elections, as it is
the most effective measure to boost the modernisation
rate.
