Unik System Design is a Danish software company focusing on
solutions for Property Management and Law Offices. Within each
field Unik System Design in Denmark holds a market-share of more
than 50%.
Summary
Unik’s Advosys solution competes with numerous existing solutions
– both established and smaller sized offerings. To maintain
excellence in this market, Unik needs to react fast to customer
wishes, and deliver a piece of software that satisfies small as well as
large law offices.
Situation
XAFARI required an application framework with a rich collection of
pre-built modules, extensibility options and a set of generic
extensions: including custom docking panels, advanced batch
editing and security management, custom UI elements like
Property Editors and new Action types (checked Action,
aggregated Actions, etc.).

The .NET WinForms platform was selected, amongst other things
due to its interoperability with the existing Access user interface.
This permitted the quick transfer of code from the existing solution
to .NET. This also lead to the decision to use the DevExpress
WinForms package to help the company develop faster and create
a more elegant user interface.

XAFARI delivers Windows and Web solutions to its clients, and
actively uses the multi-database systems support provided by XAF.
Both Microsoft SQL Server and in-memory database options within
XAF allows Galaktika to easily expand standard features on its
