•The day begins at 8:45am and ends at
3:45pm
•Please put the provided name tag on
your child
•Friday, August 29th – Meet the Teacher
•Classroom assignments are given
•2-3pm ONLY
•Tuesday, September 2nd – First day of
Kindergarten (all students come)
The Fuller Four
We will be following the Positive Behavior System at
Fuller. Commending appropriate behavior, teaching
and modeling expectations, quiet reminders and
redirections can usually handle most problems in the
classroom.

School Hours
• Our school day begins promptly at 9:15am
and dismisses at 3:45pm.
• It would be best for your child to arrive
between 8:45 and 9:00 to ensure your child
has enough time to get settled before our
day begins.
Attendance
•School attendance is very important!
•Consistency allows for maximum
success in the learning environment
•Although the tardy bell rings at 9:15
having children to school by 9:00am
allows for smooth transitions
•Please alert teachers when planned
absences occur
•All absences are recorded and require a
note of excuse
Transportation
• 3 major types
• Bus Riders
– Dismissed by route numbers
– Routes are NOT controlled
by Fuller
• Carpool/Van
– Carpool numbers issued by
Fuller
– Please stay in the carpool
line instead of parking
• Walkers
– We suggest buddies for
Kindergarten walkers
• ALL changes MUST be in
writing
• Please do NOT email
changes during the school
day
• If we do not receive notice
of the change, your child
will be sent home by
his/her usual method. We
will NOT change the child’s
transportation method
without a note from
home.
• All emergency changes
must be made before
3:00pm by calling the
office
WILL YOU BE A NEW BUS RIDER IN
2014-2015?
• WCPSS Transportation asks that families new
to riding the bus in 2014-2014 register for
services.

• YOU MUST REGISTER by July 21st
Food & Medicine
•Breakfast & Lunch are available at school
•Breakfast : $1.00
Lunch: $2.00
•Your child will be assigned a lunch number to memorize
•You may set up a lunch account for your child at school or online
•Please send all lunch money in a sealed bag or envelope with your child’s name
and lunch number on it
•Snack time will occur in the afternoon and details will be given per class
•ONLY prescription medicine may be given at school.
•Please complete The Parent Request and Physician
Order for Medication form if your child requires medicine
during the day. ALL meds should be brought to the
office in its original prescription bottle.
• PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY TYPE OF
MEDICATION TO SCHOOL IN YOUR CHILD’S
POSSESSION (including all over-the-counter
medications).

Immunizations
• Must be current.
• The parent, guardian or responsible person has until
the first day of attendance to present the required
written proof of immunizations. The child CAN be
excluded from school until proof is provided.
• If you have any questions about your child’s
immunizations please contact the school prior to the
start date.
Kindergarten Health Assessment
(Kindergarten Physical)
• The parent, guardian or responsible person has until
the first day of attendance to submit the required
health assessment form to the school.
• The child CAN be excluded from school until proof of
the assessment is provided.
Medications
• Medications will be administered at school ONLY if a
Physician Order for Medication form, 1702 is
completed, signed by physician and parent and is in
the possession of school officials.
• These forms are available at the front office.
• The Medication form and the pharmacy label
information must match!
When Should I Keep My Child Home from
School?
Children should be kept home from school with:
• Fever of 100 or higher (Should be fever
free for 24 hours before returning to
school).

Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
Severe headache
Red, watery eyes with yellow drainage
Undiagnosed rash
Children with Chronic Illness
• If your child has a chronic illness
such as diabetes, severe asthma,
severe allergies or seizures,
please contact your school nurse.
• A health care plan can be
developed indicating steps to be
taken if your child requires
medical care at school.

adult is involved in a child’s education

Visitors & Volunteers
•Fuller has an “Open School Policy” and families are
welcome!!!
•For safety reasons, ALL VISITORS must check in
at the office and receive a visitor’s pass before
going any further in the building.
•Visiting for Kindergarten classes will be determined
by each teacher (typically in October)
•We LOVE volunteers!
•Wake County Public School System enforces a
Volunteer Registration Program where every
volunteer must register with the county.
•You must register at school EVERY year.
•Registration is in the media center before or after
school
Clothing & Supplies
•School supply is included in this packet. It will also
be posted on Fuller’s website.
•Please do not bring school supplies until Friday,
August 31st.
•Each day, please help your child choose weather
appropriate, comfortable clothing that fits and can
be managed with little or no help
•Please label all hats, coats, sweaters, etc.
•We discourage children from wearing flip-flops to
school as these are NOT conducive to safe outside
play
•Please send in a complete change of clothes in a
labeled Ziploc bag with your child’s name on it
• Also, please DO NOT send your child to school in
clothing that you will be upset if it gets messy.
