Indoor Football offers a total entertainment experience and an effective opportunity to
reach your target audience. Indoor Football fans are a thriving consumer audience
of families and young professionals with disposable income.
Through the AIF and its member teams, you’ll reach consumers of all ages and
backgrounds. Nearly a third are under the age of 25 and almost three-fourths of
the fans are under the age of 45. Men represent 56% of all fans, while women
(who make many of the household decisions) make up 44%.
The Heroes offer affordable family sports entertainment that adds to the quality of
life in the Fayetteville area. In addition to supporting the community, teaming up
with the Heroes offers your company an effective, exciting and creative way to
advertise and promote your business, increase brand awareness and build your
customer base. Tickets also offer your company an inexpensive and effective way
to reward your clients, customers and employees while developing positive
business relationships.
Owner and General Manager
Mrs. Barbara Spigner is the Owner and General Manager of
the Cape Fear Heroes Professional Indoor Football Team. She
is no stranger to indoor football as she was the owner of the
Florence Phantoms in 2008 and 2009. She also co-owned of
the Cape Fear Heroes in 2012 however she is now the sole
owner of the Heroes. In 2012 the Cape Fear Heroes had an
undefeated season and won the American Indoor Football
League championship. Mrs. Barbara Spigner is a longtime
resident of Fayetteville where she is in the healthcare industry
as the owner of Spigner Management Systems, Inc. and BJ
Hill and Associates. She also serves on the Board of
Adjustments and the Nursing Home Advisory Board. Mrs.
Barbara has two daughters Crystal Williams and Charlot
Patterson along with three grandchildren, Mercedes Patterson,
Lauren Williams and Londen Williams.
Family Fun
When the football action stops is when the real fun begins! Some of the most exciting
events happen between the plays as fans participate in hilarious promotions such as
field goal kicks, golf putts for cash, lawn mower races, dance contests, trivia
questions and more!
The Heroes will give away many wonderful prizes including gift certificates, car
washes, pizzas and free meals.
In addition at our home games there are sometimes free giveaways for fans entering
the arena. It’s almost impossible to attend a game and go home empty-handed!
Youth Program
The Cape Fear Heroes Professional Indoor Football Team is a part of the AIF Junior
League, a national developmental indoor football league for kids ages 8 -13 years
old. The youth games are played at the Crown Coliseum, the home of the Heroes
Professional Indoor Football Team. This program is now in its third year of
operation. Last season the Heroes owner incorporated a new idea the first of many
reward incentives for the players. The owner chose five players each receiving a free
laptop for writing an essay on their favorite Hero and providing a copy of their
report card showing they are excelling in school.
The Heroes run and operate this program because they believe in building the future by
providing our youth a sound environment through sport, sportsmanship and
mentoring. The Junior League program is an extensive undertaking, Heroes staff
members and volunteers provide endless hours of work with the program. The
owner Barbara Spigner feels;"We need everyone's help so that we can provide the
youth with positive activities and to give them the unique experience of playing in
the same venue and under the same rules of the professionals."

The Cape Fear Heroes are preparing to enter into our 2014 Junior League
season. The Junior League is the only local youth program that allows 813 year olds to experience firsthand the fast paced and thrilling action that
makes indoor football one of the country’s fastest growing sports. In the
Junior League, Cape Fear Heroes Staff and Coaches work hand-in-hand
with several area football coaches, to adapt the professional rules to meet
youth abilities. The result is a game that focuses heavily on having fun,
and developing skills in a condensed 8 on 8 indoor football format. The
Cape Fear Heroes has structured the Junior League to suit the needs of
the select football players in the area, and to set a new standard for youth
football. In doing so, we hope to provide every participant with the
premier football experience in the Nation.
