The Need For A Poultry Industry
 The Federal Government's ban of importation of poultry
products has resulted in the rapid growth for the flourishing
Poultry Industry in Nigeria.
 There is a global shift from the consumption of red meat which increases heart disease and liver problems - to
healthy white meat.
 There is demand for self-sustaining projects to meet the
overall needs of African children: hence –
OneHopeChildren’s mission to embark on a poultry
business.

Poultry Farm Mission - Overview
 Our vision is to pursue a self-sustaining, revenue producing
project to meet our overall mission to raise the quality of
life for African children.
 The Poultry Farm project is owned by OneHopechildren,
Inc. a 501(c) 3 nonprofit foundation dedicated to
advancing and providing educational and healthcare
opportunities for indigent children in the rural communities
of the South Eastern Zone of Enugu State of Nigeria, Africa.
 Registered with the IRS, donations are tax deductible for
U.S. taxpayers—as allowed by laws and regulations.

Poultry Farm - Products/Services
 To start a poultry business we need a building for the
birds, feeders, drinking trough, water tank and
generating set.
 The products of the business will be chicken meat,
eggs and poultry manure for farmers within our target
market.
 We will package appropriate customer – delivery
services as desired for home or business locations.

Poultry Farm – The Financing
 OneHopeChildren, plans to raise Seventy Two
Thousand Dollars ($72,000.00) for this development
which will be located in our own secure and
accessible land in, Emene, Enugu, Nigeria.
 OneHopeChildren, is committing Fifteen Thousand
Dollars ($15,000) to the project in fixed capital (Land
and Space).
 The financing will be used for the development of
the company’s Farm location and to purchase
equipment needed for the poultry farm.

 Based on our research, a ready market exists for the
planned business.
 This project has been subjected to SWOT and Risk
analysis and appropriate risk mitigants are proffered.
 Our competitive edge is the management's rich
industry knowledge and proactive orientation. our
aim is to identify the weaknesses of existing poultry
farms and exploit such.


 The enterprise will be managed by Father Felix
Ugwuozor, the president of OneHopeChildren, Inc. He
has extensively researched the poultry business and
remains confident that he will be able to bring the
business to profitability within its first year of operations.
 Farm Officer and the Finance Admin Officers hold high
qualifications in Animal Science and Accounting
Business Management, respectively.

scholarship recipients when they are available.
 OneHopeChildren, Inc is in discussions with a
Consulting Firm that focuses on Business
Development and Support Services, to offer us
external support over a period of three years in
strong management and support services.
 We will adopt a slim personnel plan at start-up. As
the business needs grow, more hands will be
engaged.

OneHopeChildren, Inc is entering the market as a structured player and has
plans to identify and exploit the weaknesses of the existing farms in order to
reap a comfortable market share. Core areas of our marketing plans are:
 Creating awareness with an aggressive marketing

 Direct Delivery Services (when preferred) to our

 Target Clients - Fast Food Shops, Hotels, Restaurants,
Dealers in Chicken and Eggs, families.
 Target Location - Southern Eastern part of Nigeria.
 Key Competitors - Most poultry farmers operate at
micro and small level with production just enough to
meet their needs and a small quantity sold to few
individual customers. Their presence will not pose any
threat to our expected success as we are entering the
market as a structured, proactive and focused
organization.

We will mount an aggressive awareness campaign to draw potential
customers to our presence by making use of handbills, flyers, and posters
to reach out to our target market. With business growth, an improved
publicity approach will be adopted. Print and electronic media will be put
to good use. On the distribution strategy, we plan to adopt the following
approach:
 Direct sales to Hotels, Restaurants and Fast food.
 Sales to Dealers (Eggs and Chicken).
 Direct sales to small buyers.
 Appointment of distributors with sales outlets.

Legal Issues
OneHopeChildren, Inc has undertaken a legality check on the proposed
business. The Enterprise has been duly registered with the Corporate Affairs
Commission.
Regulatory Issues
The enterprise will comply with all relevant regulatory requirements - hand
gloves, nose-masks and fire extinguishers will be provided. Necessary
Business Premises Permits will be secured. Relevant Taxes and Levies to the
State and Local Government shall be paid as and when due.

 Animal droppings and other wastes generated in the course of the
production activity shall be promptly and effectively discharged,
recycled, or sold for processing for fertilizer.
 The farm will be run in a way that enhances environmental
sustainability.

Conclusion
Economic Justification
From our analysis, the planned project has been found economically justifiable
in that it creates jobs, wealth, reduces poverty and empowers people. The
project is also in tandem with the central mission of OneHopeChildren Inc.
Regulatory Issues
Given our analysis and findings, the proposed poultry farm is found to be
technically feasible, financially viable and economically desirable. The project
offers good investment benefits to OneHopeChildren, Inc, and most likely
would become a self-sustaining, and self-supporting platform for the
organization. We therefore, have no hesitation in recommending the project
for funding and implementation.
