the BMW rules, 1998

Proper drainage facility in all public health facility. &
monitoring of Residual chlorine at community level.
 100% compliance to maintenance of instrument/
equipment.

Broad Strategy
 Certification & periodic renewal of the certification for all public
health facilities as per Bio Medical Waste Management &
Handling Rule
 Strengthened Capacity Building of health care workers.
 Outsourcing to authorized CBWTF for BMW management as per
the BMW guidelines.
 Solid waste management and creation of composting pit facility
for environment friendly management of organic waste generated
at the public health facilities up to PHC level
 Provision of toilets facilities & proper drainage system at all
public health facilities separately for male & female up to PHC
level & one toilet facility at sub-center level
