MISSION
U of U Global Health Initiative is a medical and
public health based educational & service program
designed to:

Provide a positive, meaningful educational experience for all
participants
Engage with partner countries interested in a true collaboration to
understand and solve health related issues at the local community
level and evaluate success through measurable benchmark
Create long term solutions that promote community level
sustainability, self-reliance, on-going progress and independence
Build a strong bond between the USA and partner countries by
achieving mutual good through health diplomacy and bidirectional beneficiary programs
GOAL

service which will result in sustainable, self-reliant

• Refined model with over 13 years in the
“foundation village” in Kumasi, Ghana
‒
Continue to successfully run all four phases of model in
partnership with local community, government, hospital and
school. Highlights include:
• On-going physician and student exchanges, site visits
• Public Health research in local disease and sanitation issues
• Funding and building of two K- 9 schools, village sanitation
facility, community health station and development of viable
money-making ventures
• Continue to unlock local human potential, reinforce local
cultural, institutions and infrastructure
