Prisma – a federated
service for grants mgmt.
In Q4-2013 the Swedish Research
Council, Forte and Formas will launch a
federated grants management service
• Scalability Designed for an extension of the federation
• Adaptive Highly configurable for local call processes
• Distributed Integrations with publication databases, national
project database, local ECM and financial systems
• Self-organizing Natural incentives in self-service functions for

Prisma – next step
• Extend federation Process started with Karolinska Institute
(internal grants mgmt.), Swedish Environmental Protection
Agency, Vinnova, Ethical Review Board
• Contract API for export to university contract databases
• National CV database Turn the CV database in Prisma into
a national CV portal for researchers
• Open source Create an open source project of proprietary
parts?
• Electronic archiving Implementation of 3rd part archiving
module from Formpipe.
Conclusions
• A digital ecosystem approach catalyzes the
information ecology in the research
community
• A RI governance framework is a cost efficient
way to provide a foundation for quality RI
intelligence
• Federated system for grants management,
Prisma, launching in Q4-2013
