For the message of the cross is
foolishness to those who are perishing,
but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Egypt to the desert
What did God do for the Israelites?
• He made pharaoh submit to His will and release his people
• Moses, with God’s hand, struck the sea and split it.
• The Lord led them with a cloud by day, and a pillar of fire by
night.
• The Lord sent His people manna and quails so that they
wouldn’t starve.
• When they were walking in the wilderness and needed water,
God gave them water from a rock.
• He cared about their souls and gave Moses the Two tablets of
Covenant.
Any experience?
• Have you had an experience
where you felt the presence of
God?
• God did all the miracles to
Israelites…and while they were
in the desert, God gave manna
& quails…but…
• they complained about the
manna and quail that they ate
for a long time in the
wilderness.
• So, God sent fiery serpent
among the people.
• Remember we talked about the
tongue last weeks?
“I’m Sorry”
• Why were they punished?
• Did they realize what they
were doing was wrong?
• They went to Moses and
said: “We have sinned, for
we have spoken against
the LORD and against you;
pray to the LORD that He
take away the serpents
from us.”
Forgive them
• So Moses prayed for the
people
• What do you think God
said?
• God was sooo mad at
them that He didn’t listen
to Moses……….right?
The bronze serpent
• God LOVED Moses and
His people soo
much…especially since
they repented.
• He told Moses to make a
bronze serpent and put it
on a pole so that anyone
that was bitten could look
at it and live.
What does the serpent resemble?
• Who else heals us from our sin, no matter
WHEN, how MANY, and how HORRIBLE?
• The bronze serpent = The sacrifice of Christ
The Cross can save us
1 COR 15:55&57
• O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where
is your victory?
• …thanks be to God, who gives us the victory
through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Using the Cross
• Jesus prayer :
• 1) use the rosary we made on the activity
day, any suitable time , in the school bus
....etc
• 2) while in the bed just before falling
sleeping and as soon as we wake-up even
before getting out of the bed.
Use of the Cross

• Use the power of the Holy cross,
whenever you are praying, controlling
anger, etc.
