The Gong Shu district is located in the north of Hangzhou, and the millennial canal
throughout the region
拱墅区运河文化的缘起及惠民理念

2007年，拱墅区图书馆（杭州图书馆运河文献分馆），
应运而生，拱墅社会，一时书卷飘香。The Gong Shu Distrct Library
(Canal Literature Branch of Hangzhou Pblic Library) emerged to the time call in 2007.

●运河文献室简介
拱墅区图书馆落成于
2007年，建筑面积3000余平
方米，藏书15万册，是杭州
城区首家设施完备、编制完
整的区级图书馆。2009年，
被评为国家一级图书馆。
图书馆座落于运河南端
点的江南第一古桥拱宸桥畔，
与中国京杭大运河博物馆连
为一体，相互融合，交相辉
映，以文物、史料、文献等
多种形式，全面呈现着运河
的千古风情。
●Brief introduction of Canal
Literature Room
The Gong Shu District Branch
Library opened in 2007 with
approximately 3000 square meters
gross area and a collection of 150
thousand books, is the first full
district library in Hangzhou with
perfect facilities. In 2009,it was
evaluated as library at the first
national level.
The library is located in
the south of canal, where close to
the first ancient Gong Chen bridge
in Jiang Nan region with Jing Hang
Grand Canal museum, which
comprehensive present the ancient
customs of canal in various ways,
such as antiques, historical
materials and literatures etc,.
作为杭州图书馆运河文献分馆，在图书馆的二层东侧，辟有收藏世界各地
特别是中国大运河的有关运河书籍、报刊资料的运河专题典藏室，和开展信息
交流、动态研究及各类资料挖掘、整理、研究工作的运河文献资料研究室。
As the Canal Literature Branch of Hangzhou Public Library, in the east side of second floor,
library collects all over the world especially the China Grand Canal about canal books,
newspapers and materials in canal project collection room, in addition, library has the canal
document literature research room for information communication, dynamic study and all
kinds of materials research work.

一边完善古老而珍贵的文献收集，一
边传播运河的人土风情文化。借助得天独
厚的运河资源，运河文献分馆关于运河文
化的活动也精彩纷呈，如“运河大讲堂”、
“乡土课堂”等。
The library improves old and precious
literature collections while spreads culture
and customs of canal. The canal literature
branch library organized a series of canal
themed activities based on the canal resources
as well, such as “Canal Lecture” “Local
Culture Class” etc,.

当然，也有从全国各地慕名前来寻访的人，来
自北京、山东、江苏等地方的专家学者，沿着运河
沿线，一路向南，在拱宸桥畔驻足守望，在运河文
献室内查阅运河的人土、风情、历史资料，感受古
运河千年来给沿线人们带来的日新月异的变化。
Meanwhile, lots of experts from all over
the country, such as Beijing ,Shandong,
Jiangsu etc., walk along the canal ahead
south and indulge themselves in the
fascinating scenery, or feel the subtle
differences ancient canal has brought to
people’s daily life by research culture,
historical materials and customs about
canal in literature room.
运河文献分馆，目前还很稚嫩，还有许多工作未完善，今后
需要努力的地方还很多。在此，希望来自全国各地的专家、同行
和朋友，能为我们的工作提出指导、建议。
The canal literature branch library, is still very young
presently, we are fully aware that lots of improvement
need to be done in the future, therefore, we hope
experts from all over the world and friends can put
forward suggestions for our work.
