Education provides pupils teaching skills that prepare them physically, mentally and socially for the world of work in later life. o Education is generally seen as the foundation of society which brings economic wealth, social prosperity and political stability. o Education is the best investment for the people because well educated people have more opportunities to get a job which gives them satisfaction © HRMARS, Pakistan www.hrmars.com Students of Pakistan's religious minorities, including Christians, are victims of exclusion, discrimination and acts of violence because of their faith and their status The complaint comes from Minorities Concern of Pakistan (MCP) which says that most of the violations take place in government run institutions and is committed by both classmates by teachers It is despite that what is stated in the Constitution, in textbooks "Pakistan is associated with the Muslims ... and says that Pakistan is a country only for Muslims". © HRMARS, Pakistan www.hrmars.com o o Pakistan’s minority Christians students are facing serious challenges in their academic studies. students are encountering problems because of their minority status and faith and students have been routinely facing discrimination by their teachers and Muslim classmates. A recent incident showed their plight in the government run schools. On May 28, about a dozen heavily armed men attacked a Christian religious leader Pastor Mubarak Masih and his family. The incident occurred when the pastor’s nephew Shaid, 13, declined to recite the Quran in a government school in the city of Smundri in Punjab province. © HRMARS, Pakistan www.hrmars.com o Special fund for the welfare and uplift of minorities. o Repair/ maintenance/ renovation/ protection of holy and worship places. o Support the ngo’s which are working for the welfare of minorities. o Financial assistance o Basic amenities sui gas , electricity, water soling, drains and roads. o Scholarships for minorities. o National commission for minorities. o National cultural awards for minorities. o Small development schemes. o Socio economic schemes. © HRMARS, Pakistan www.hrmars.com What to do If you think you are the victim of discrimination: o Wirite down what happened to you if you you think it was unfair. o Write down the dates when the unfair treatment happened. o Write the names of peoples who were present there. o Write down what the people who were there said. Do not wait. Sometimes it is hard to say what is discrimination and what is not discrimination. Every situation is different. But if you think you are the victim of discrimination, donot wait.
