State , which was created out of the old Amuwo Odofin
Local Government on 27 th October, 2003.

To improve attendance at the Birthing Centre at Amuwo Odofin Local
Government Area and thus reduce maternal mortality significantly

The CHIP
• Goal: To improve ‘Birthing’ attendance at Amuwo Odofin Health Centre
and thus reduce maternal mortality significantly at the Local Government
Area.
• Process Objective:
– The process objective is to improve perception of Health Centre workers
by the Community to 70% by June 2013
– To enlist Community buy-in measured by endorsement
– To train at least 20 Community Members as 'birthing centre advocates'
by Dec 2013
• Outcome Objective: The outcome objective is to improve the
number of births at the health centre to 40% by June 2014 from the current

baseline of 10%.
