The Father of Chinese Railroads
He was born in 1861. He was a railroad engineer(工
程师). In 1905, the Chinese government(政
府)wanted to build (建造)a railroad . Foreign people,
like the British and the Russians(俄国人)wanted to
build it. Zhan Tianyou was patriotic(爱国的). He
helped our Chinese people build our first railroad.
It was difficult to build the rairoad because we had
to build many bridges (桥梁)and tunnels(隧道 ).
Through(通过)his hard work, he was successful.
When he died, the Chinese opened a museum(博物
馆) for him. He is a national(民族的)hero(英雄).
