• ISBE will follow up by sending an email with a
link where you will go to register your license
– (District where you have a job or where you live or
permanent address)
– If you don’t register it, after 6 months it will lapse.
• ISBE is no longer providing paper copies of license
– Will need to make a screen shot of license
– Anyone can go into ELIS/Educator credentials, go into “Public
Search” and, using your first and last name, verify your
credentials
• TESTING (more information)

– Optional test
• Health Education (142)

• All high school and foreign language endorsements
require a test.
• Be sure you request test scores be sent to
Illinois
• Be sure your SSN is accurate (errors may delay
licensure).
• Keep test scores forever (or longer)- May need
them later
• Renewing your license Important! The window for renewing is getting
smaller-don’t let license lapse.
– Can renew online through ISBE website (same site where you will
claim your license).
