Subscription Records
Add subscription records – search, push to serials
Locate the title you wish to work with by searching in the search tab, and
‘push’ the record to serials by clicking .

Pushing the record to serials will take you to the serials tab. In the navigation pane, highlight subscription list.

Click Add to create a subscription record

Select the appropriate holding record using the drop down menu next to the Hol. Link field, and click
Refresh

Various fields will be populated with information from the holdings record, such as sublibrary, collection and call number

Add subscription records – Tab 3, Claims
Tab 3 contains claiming information. There are no required fields on this screen. Add information as desired and click Add to add the subscription record.

Prediction Patterns
To add a prediction pattern to the subscription record, with the record on the screen highlight the Patterns node under the Control root.
Do NOT use the patterns node under the subscription root.

In the upper pane, click Add to add a prediction pattern to the subscription record.

The system will ask you which library to attach the pattern record.
Pattern records should be attached to the holdings record, and you should always select the holdings record number in the
SYS60 library.
**Note: if you do not receive this dialog box, a holdings record likely does not exist. Create a holdings record before proceeding.

The pattern tab (tab 3) becomes active in the lower pane.
use Template to select an appropriate pattern record from the list of templates.

Highlight the desired template in the upper pane of the Choose
Pattern Template File window and click OK.
**Note the corresponding 85x field will display in the lower pane of the dialog box.

The template will populate various fields in the pattern tab automatically that correspond with the chosen pattern. Make any adjustments that may be necessary and click Add.

Click on the Level-X tab (tab 2) in the upper pane and click
Add. The Level-X record indicates the starting point at which the subscription record should begin creating issues for arrival.

Select template and choose the same option as the pattern record.
The system will populate the required fields with information that can be altered to fit your needs. This way you can assure that no fields are accidentally skipped.

Add prediction patterns – update Level X
Update the Level-X record with the enumeration and chronology for the next volume or cycle that will be opened, as well as the start date. When finished, click Add.

Adding prediction patterns – expected issues
You can view the details of the issue item records that will be generated by clicking on the Expected Schedule tab (tab 5) in the lower pane. A preview of the next cycle to be opened is displayed. If this information is incorrect or otherwise in need of further modification, click on the pattern or level-x tab and make corrections.

Prediction Patterns
Clicking Open Items creates an item record for each issue of the volume. When item records are created, the system will automatically update the 85x field for the next cycle. Note the volume currently being opened is 78.

After opening the first cycle of items, you’ll notice the expected schedule now holds items for volume 79.
