I can use them to buy TI supplies for the Introduction to Statistics classroom 2 Supplies Continued Protractor Should be small, if possible. Uses: Ruler--Small Compact and always accessible Angle Measure Guide--essential for pie charts (beginning of our course) Pencil Several #2 pencils or better yet, a good (0.7 lead) mechanical pencil. You’ll be doing lots of writing. And while you are there, get lead for the pencils. Introduction to Statistics 3 Supplies Continued Compass We're drawing pie charts (1st part of the course) as well as bar charts and you MUST be accurate. Graphs count for a lot in Intro Stats. Introduction to Statistics 4 Supplies Continued Graph Paper Only graph paper is acceptable for your work on paper. Get a thick pad of it. You will need it. You will have xeroxed problems, for Classwork & Homework. Anytime you need an extra piece of paper it MUST be graph paper. No graph paper, no pencil, no credit. The green sheets tell most everything you need to know about this course. • The 3rd page of the Green Sheets must be signed by you and your parent and returned to my homework box. • This is worth 10 classwork points. I’ll tell you; don’t use them again. • Be safe; be on time • Be in your seat when the tardy bell rings • Don’t talk out of turn • Raise you hand to speak Introduction to Statistics 23 More Rules • No personal grooming; grooming belongs in the bathroom not in a classroom • No gum. Get rid of it before I get upset. • No electronic equipment of any kind, including cell phones & ipods, except for your calculator. I see you touch a phone in class, you will hand it over to me. • No name calling physical contact or making fun of anyone in class • No bathroom breaks; you have 6 min between classes for that • Obey all normal rules outlined in the WHS Student Handbook Introduction to Statistics 24 Tardy Policy • On the 3rd tardy to class during a semester, I will give warning • On the 4th tardy to class, I will deduct 2 points from your next test score • For all tardies after the 4th, I will continue to deduct 2 points from your next test score. The option to send you to the SRC after the 3rd tardy also exists.
