Context, Objectives and different Actions of the BRIDGE Project Best recognition instruments for the dialogue between global experts Final Conference - Malta, 18 - 19 October 2012 Luca Lantero BRIDGE PNCProject - Punto nazionale di contatto Presentation of project activities BRIDGE Kick-off meeting Luca Lantero – PNC Italia Rome, 12 November 2010 Main features Coordinating Institution: PNC - Italia (Italian NS) Responsible of the Project: Mr. Giovanni Finocchietti Partners (NSs): Estonia; Malta; Portugal and Spain Duration: 24 months from 8th of November 2010 to 31st of October 2012 Aims of the Project: (A) to facilitate the dialogue between the Network of Erasmus Mundus National Structures and NARIC Centres & (B) to understand and to increase the level of knowledge about the Erasmus Mundus Programme and of its specific rules of the Enic, Naric and Meric centres. The BRIDGE Project is composed of 9 concrete Actions BRIDGE Action 1 Aim of the Action: Spreading knowledge about NARIC activities among Erasmus Mundus National Structures. Timetable: from November 2010 to May 2011. Responsible Institution (NS): Spain. Outputs: Questionnaire & Report of results. Activities: 1. Drafting the questionnaire; 2. Sending the questionnaire to Erasmus Mundus NSs; 3. Collection and analysis of results; 4. Publication of the Action Report. BRIDGE Action 2 Aim of the Action: Spreading knowledge about the Erasmus Mundus Programme among NARIC centres and assessing their involvement. Timetable: from January 2011 to October 2011. Responsible Institution (NS): Estonia. Outputs: Questionnaire & Report of results. Activities: 1. Drafting the questionnaire; 2. Sending the questionnaire to NARIC centres; 3. Collection and analysis of results; 4. Publication of the Action Report. BRIDGE Action 3 Aim of the Action: Spreading knowledge about the Erasmus Mundus Programme among ENIC & MERIC centres and assessing their involvement. Timetable: from January 2011 to October 2011. Responsible Institution (NS): Malta. Outputs: Questionnaire & Report of results. Activities: 1. Drafting the questionnaire; 2. Sending the questionnaire to ENIC & MERIC centres; 3. Collection and analysis of results; 4. Publication of the Action Report. BRIDGE Action 4 Aim of the Action: Analysis of Erasmus Mundus case studies (one case per partner - 5 in total). Timetable: from March 2011 to February 2012. Responsible Institution (NS): Portugal. Outputs: Course visits & Final Report. Activities: 1. Detection of Erasmus Mundus courses: - Analysis of the BRIDGE Action 1 results; - Analysis of national cases starting from our experience; 2. Drafting a unified template for the analysis of EM courses: - problems on the creation of the joint course (differences derived from HED systems and national legislations); - recognition problems in the student selection phase; - problems in the creation and in the awarding of final degrees and Diploma Supplements; 3. Collection and analysis of results; 4. Publication of the Action Report. BRIDGE Action 5 Aim of the Action: Study visits to ENIC and MERIC centres (one SV per partner - 5 in total). Timetable: from June 2011 to September 2012. Responsible Institution (NS): Spain. Outputs: Study visits & Final Report. Activities: 1. Detection of ENIC and MERIC centres: - Analysis of the BRIDGE Action 3 results; - Analysis of EM consortia with third country HEIs; - Analysis of EM third country student & scholar flows; 2. Drafting a unified template for the study visit: - problems on the creation of the joint course (differences derived from HED systems and national legislations); - recognition problems in the student selection phase; - problems in the creation and in the awarding of final degrees and Diploma Supplements; 3. Collection and analysis of results; 4. Publication of the Action Report. BRIDGE Action 6 Aim of the Action: Handbook on good practices in the recognition process. Timetable: from October 2011 to March 2012. Responsible Institution (NS): Italy. Outputs: Handbook. Activities: 1. Collecting results of other BRIDGE Actions; 2. Collecting information sources on higher education systems and recognised / accredited HEIs in NARIC, ENIC & MERIC countries 3. Collecting international sources and documents in order to establish, evaluate and recognise joint degrees; 4. Collecting recognition practices adopted by the NARIC, ENIC and MERIC centres; 5. Highlighting problems and suggest solutions on recognition case studies; 6. Suggesting correct recognition procedures related to the different phases in the life of an Erasmus Mundus course. BRIDGE Action 7 Aim of the Action: Final seminar: Joint meeting of EM NSs and selected ENIC & NARIC centres in Malta. Timetable: from September 2012 to October 2012. Responsible Institution (NS): Malta. Outputs: Final seminar. Activities: 1. Date of the seminar; 2. Selection of NARIC & ENIC centres (results of other Actions); 3. Organisation of the seminar; 4. Detection of external speakers & topics; 5. Presentation of final results of the Project. BRIDGE Action 8 Aim of the Action: Dissemination of Project results. Timetable: from June 2011 to October 2012. Responsible Institution (NS): Portugal. Outputs: Dissemination Report. Activities: 1. Collecting dissemination activities; 2. Drafting the Dissemination Report; 3. Disseminating the results during the entire life of the Project. BRIDGE Action 9 Aim of the Action: Administration and monitoring of the Project. Timetable: from November 2010 to October 2012. Responsible Institution (NS): Italy. Outputs: Progress Report; Final Report; Evaluation Report. Activities: 1. Managing the relationship with the EACEA; 2. Drafting administrative documents; 3. Dates and places of next meetings 4. Collecting and checking administrative documents from partners; 5. Selection of the Evaluation Expert; 6. Evaluating the quality of each action of the Project; 7. Drafting the Progress, Final and Evaluation Reports; 8.
