Architecture (1 of 2)
Two Major Subsystems
• The Discovery Subsystem: This module probes devices and records what it discovers in a
text file
• The Automation Subsystem: The module reads that text file and configures monitoring per
user defined rules
Discovery and Automation are Independent
• Automation can be used to configure devices from other external sources
• In an Auto Discovery operation BOTH are needed

 Results Page
1. Mouse over the Service
Profiles tab to make sure the
assignments are right.
2. If everything looks good, click
the New Host box for each
acceptable host and then click
the Process Records button.
3. Hosts that aren’t correct can be
edited individually or in bulk
using the Enable Overrides
button.
