• Radio E-Mail System
• Access via VHF, UHF, HF, and Telnet
• Terms
– Client System --Your Radio, computer, and modem
– RMS --Radio Message Server – The radio gateway between the client system and the Winlink system
– CMS -- Common Message Servers. The central hub of system. 5 Worldwide, provide fault-tolerance, are geographically separated, provide a redundant and mirrored system

REVIEW OF WINLINK
• Clients use their equipment and Winlink provided software on their laptop/PC to transmit and receive messages into/from system.
• Software is an e-mail like program and allows attachments.
• Generally use clients callsign as sender or receiver address. Will support tactical addressing.

– RMS Express in folder C:\RMS\RMS Express
– Download itshfbc. Install in C:\itshfbc
• This is a propagation program used to determine what
RMS station would be best for you to connect to.
