John 17:3 – “This is eternal Life, that they may know you, the only true God, and the one whom you have sent.” Why invite others to know Jesus? John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Why invite others to know Jesus? • Because the world lacks joy! • “The joy of the Gospel fills the hearts and lives of all who encounter Jesus. Those who accept his offer of salvation are set free from sin, sorrow, inner emptiness and loneliness. With Christ joy is constantly born anew.” Pope Francis, Evangelii Gaudium, Paragraph 1 Program Page 27 “I can see from my own experience that even if I speak of many beautiful concepts, nothing seems to happen. We must proclaim Jesus as Lord and Savior, helping people to grasp what it means to have Jesus as their Savior — not in a theoretical way, but that every day they have a Savior, someone who will lift them from their fatigue of the day, of their sin, and their mistakes, and who renews them. He saves us. When you proclaim this living, crucified and risen Jesus, something always happens.” -Fr. Raniero Cantalamessa (Preacher to the Papal Household since 1980) Program Page 26 This is in the program so that… And you… can teach it to your group and to disciples on campus!
