Purpose of the standard.
The purpose of this document is to provide
clarity and guidance for the purpose of
repair and remanufacturing of Drill Through
Equipment. This Standard will provide
minimum requirements and will be in
alignment with API 16A and S53.

Finalized content of Manufacturing Data book and Project history File,
which are added to the API-16A and API-16AR Standard as an Annex.

assembly (API-53 STD OEM definition).
Completed content of Quality Control chapter, including RSL levels 1-3
Completed content of QMS system requirements.
Completed responsibility chapter.

Meetings
• Weekly meeting for cortication every Tuesday from
16:00-17:00 hrs Houston time, starting next week.
• 3rd week of February: 2-3 day workshop to
complete welding chapter.
• Welding group weekly meeting every Friday 16:0017:00 hrs Houston time, starting next week.
• API-16AR group meeting in Houston TIEC end
March.

TPI in API-16AR
If Third Party Inspection is used, the following applies:
Third Party Inspectors (TPI) shall be competent based on the
appropriate education, training, skills and experience needed to
perform the inspection service and certification related product
requirements defined in the inspection scope.
Evidence of the determination of competence of TPI personnel shall be
recorded and maintained by the TPI company in accordance with
their QMS documented procedures and requirements for
competence.
The TPI scope shall be clearly defined in the purchase order by the
client.
The TPI requirements defined in the purchase order shall be included in
the Inspection Test Plan for the product.
Certification shall be approved by a Recognized Technical Authority.

• RSL levels are based on API-16A chapter 8.4 and 8.5
quality requirements.
