Licensing: FactFinder is licensed per guest OS in the managed
environment. Express: $499/agent, Enterprise: $2300/agent.
Volume discounting applies over 10 agents. Depending on VM
configuration, enterprise cost is usually ~20% of fully loaded
System Center price.
Additional Capability: Maps and monitors cross-tier transactions
running across on-premises, Azure, or hybrid cloud systems
Product Description: BlueStripe FactFinder maps & monitors the
performance of every business service running in the datacenter, the
private cloud, or a hybrid of both. FactFinder detects service level
problems and then tracks transactions across every tier to pinpoint
where and why they are getting stuck.
System Center Integration: FactFinder integrates with System Center
Operations Manager 2012 to add multi-tier transaction monitoring
and dynamically populated Distributed Application maps to Ops
Manager. These maps include both Microsoft Windows Server and
cross-system components, such as Linux, Solaris, AIX, and
mainframe.

Summary: State Auto used FactFinder’s monitoring data within

Situation: State Auto uses FactFinder to monitor and diagnose the
cause of service level violations impacting their distributed
applications. However, the company wanted System Center to be the
central nexus for all monitoring.
Solution: State Auto used FactFinder’s out-of-the-box integration
with Operations Manager to automatically create Distributed
Application maps of key business applications. They also integrated
FactFinder’s tier-by-tier service level alerts into Ops Manager.
Benefit: State Auto was able to provide every team an IT a view into
distributed application performance within Operations Manager.
Then, they automated the process of responding to FactFinder’s
alarms with a run-book process created in Orchestrator.
