The event is then propagated to the Niagara alarm service. For devices that support GetAlarmSummary, the driver will display unacknowledged alarms, but not import alarms into the Niagara alarm service. • Enrollment Summary – Retrieves a summary of BACnet objects within a device that match a set of user definable criteria. • Configurable Threads for Polling – Device polling threads may be increased to more than 2 threads if increased performance is needed. • Configurable Threads for Proxy Point Writes – Multiple threads may now be configured for proxy points. Useful for networks that have a large number of proxy points configured to write on start. Target Customers for OWS • The daily operator who needs the ability to monitor basic system status and to perform simple modification to the operation of the system • Projects that specify BACnet OWS OWS Device Manager View Additional Features compared to BACnet IP Client AWS BTL Listing What is AWS? • The Advanced Work Station (AWS) provides the highest level of functionality to the Supervisor to Monitor and Control a BACnet System • Value of AWS – Meet BTL listing requirements for an AWS – Qualify for specifications calling out AWS Listed products – Additional Supervisory Functions for BACnet Systems AWS Features In addition to the OWS option features, the AWS option provides: • Communication Control – Control a device’s ability to generate traffic on a network. Useful for diagnostics or if a device is faulty. • Reinitialize Device – Ability to restart a device from the AWS • Backup Device (for devices that support DM-BR-B BIBB) – Backup a device’s configuration to a file • Restore Device (for devices that support DM-BR-B BIBB) – Restore a previous backup to a device • History Import Manager – Import BACnet Event Log objects to a Niagara history. • Configuration Manager (for devices that support this functionality) – Create additional BACnet objects in a BACnet device – Delete BACnet objects in a BACnet device Target Customer for AWS • Building operator or technician with an advanced level of technical ability – Provides support for limited configuration actions and ongoing commissioning activities • Projects that specify BACnet AWS AWS Device Manager View Additional Features compared to BACnet OWS AWS Config Manager – New Features • Create new BACnet objects in the remote BACnet device • Delete selected BACnet objects in the remote BACnet device BACnet Server and AWS/OWS • OWS and AWS were not tested by BTL with the export function enabled – Server functionality is not required by BTL for the OWS/AWS Device Profiles • The OWS and AWS Parts can only be added to the BACnet IP Client Driver on the AX Supervisor to keep the BTL listing valid • If the OWS or AWS parts are added to a station with the BACnet Export enabled, the BTL listing will become invalid BACnet B-BC Listing for JACEs • The JACE BACnet Driver received the B-BC Listing in 2008. The BACnet Driver is B-BC listed for NiagaraAX version 3.2.20 and higher – Includes the Server Features – If a customer needs BTL Listed OWS/AWS and BTL Listed Server features, use a JACE and Supervisor combination Upgrading a BACnet Supervisor • An existing BACnet Supervisor station is not directly upgradable to run as a BACnet AWS or BACnet OWS Supervisor • An “offline conversion utility” is provided in the bacnetAws and bacnetOws modules – This tool is documented in the Appendix of the BACnet Guide (available on Niagara Central) –Converts the config.bog database file Upgrading an OWS to an AWS Station • If a customer purchases OWS and needs/desires to upgrade to AWS, there is an additional charge and part number to order the AWS module • An offline converter tool is used to upgrade the config.bog database file to be compatible as a BACnet AWS Supervisor – Documented in the Appendix of the BACnet Guide (available on Niagara Central) OWS/AWS Licensing Requirements • BACnet OWS – Requires purchasing the BACnet IP Client Driver for the AX Supervisor – The supervisor PC must be running AX 3.6 or later with the bacnet and bacnetOws modules in the modules folder – The Supervisor PC must have both the bacnet feature and the bacnetOws feature in its license • BACnet AWS – Requires purchasing the BACnet IP Client Driver for the AX Supervisor – Must be running AX-3.6 or later with the bacnet, bacnetOws, and bacnetAws modules in the module folder – The Supervisor PC must have the bacnet feature, bacnetOws feature, and bacnetAws feature in its license New SBS Supervisor Options • 64-bit Windows Small Building Supervisor • 32-bit Linux Small Building Supervisor • Both the 64-bit Windows Small Building Supervisor and the 32-bit Linux Small Building Supervisor will have identical features to the current 32-bit Windows Small Building Supervisor – Limit of any 3 JACE controllers – Only database drivers can be added to the Small Building Supervisor Install a high-performance system in a small building with the option to expand later Questions?
