EUROPEAN WINTER SCHOOL ON PHYSICAL ORGANIC CHEMISTRY - 2015 e-WISPOC 2015 The 9th European-Winter School on Physical Organic Chemistry (e-WiSPOC) will take place in Bressanone (Italy) on February 1-6, 2015. The School will be held at Gruener Baum Hotel where lecturers and students will be accommodated in a friendly environment. The School is open to PhD students and post-docs. The topic of the 2015 edition is Chemistry and Chemical Processes in Confined Spaces. The objective of the School is to introduce the methods for the design, preparation, characterization and use of nano and microsystems containing molecular structures whose physicochemical properties are determined by the environment in which they are confined. The most important applications, that involve areas such as sensing, catalysis, photonics, solar energy conversion, will be presented and discussed by leading scientists in the respective fields. Confirmed lecturers are: Alessandro Troisi (Department of Chemistry, University of Warwick - UK), Francesco Stellacci (Institute of Materials EPFL, Lausanne - CH), Gianfranco Pacchioni (Department of Materials Science, University of Milano-Bicocca - IT), Gianluca Farinola (Department of Chemistry, University of Bari - IT), Katharine Landfester (Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research Mainz - DE), Kees Hummelen (Stratingh Institute for Chemistry, U. of Groningen - NL), Lucia Banci (Department of Chemistry, University of Firenze - IT), Luisa Torsi (Department of Chemistry, University of Bari - IT), Mauro Davanzo (International Flavors and Fragrances Inc.), Sebastiano Campagna (Department of Chemical Sciences, University of Messina - IT), Zoltan Takats (Department of Surgery and Cancer, Imperial College London - UK), Luisa De Cola (ISIS, Strasbourg - FR), Andrew deMello (Department of Chemistry and Applied Biosciences, ETH Zuerich, CH). School coordinators: Michele Maggini, U. of Padova, Benedetta Mennucci, U. of Pisa, Agostino Casapullo, U. of Salerno. Organising Committee: Miriam Mba, Enzo Menna, Tommaso Carofiglio, Giulia Licini, Michele Maggini - U. of Padova.
