Education objectives
The units aims to provide the students with the
basic principles of the aerodynamic hydrodynamic behaviour of sails and hulls,
moving through advanced topics concerning the
sailing boat balance and performances.
.
Learning outcomes
Choice and effects of the sail typology as a
function of the sailed course and of the wind
intensity. Details of equilibrium and dynamic of
a sailing vessel (upwind and downwind). Details
of sails, keel and rudder design.
