Doel
Een eenvoudig model voor het berekenen van de begroting van onderzoekprojecten en praktijkprojecten gefinancierd door Nierstichting Nederland (NSN).
Beschrijving
 Het NSN Project Financiering Model (PFM) bepaalt het budget van NSN-onderzoekprojecten en NSN-praktijkprojecten (ontwikkel- en implementatie). Alle aanvragen voor projectsubsidies passen het PFM toe.
 Het PFM kent standaard-personeelsjaren toe. Het model maakt onderscheid tussen verschillende categorieën functies: NWOP (Niet-wetenschappelijk Onderzoek Ondersteunend
Personeel (datamanagers, (research)verpleegkundigen, analisten ), AIO Onderzoeker, Junior
Onderzoeker (junior postdocs en arts-onderzoekers) en Senior Onderzoeker (ervaren postdocs en medisch-specialistonderzoekers); Projectmedewerkers ingeschaald op WO,
HBO of MBO niveau. Eén standaard-personeelsjaar bevat exact 1,0 fte voor de relevante positie.
 Een PFM standaard-personeelsjaar is all-in. Voor de categorieën NWOP, AIO Onderzoeker,
Junior Onderzoeker en Senior Onderzoeker geldt dat naast het salaris van de desbetreffende onderzoeker of NWOP, ook de kosten voor materiaal inclusief proefdieren, apparatuur, congresdeelname en ondersteuning van proefschriften bij de subsidie is inbegrepen.
 Een AIO die is aangesteld op een door de Nierstichting gefinancierd project onder het NSN
PFM heeft recht op een bijdrage voor de drukkosten van het proefschrift binnen de door de
NSN aan het project toegekende subsidie. De bijdrage is maximaal € 500,- .
 Personeel dat voor minder dan 0,2 fte (op jaarbasis) wordt ingezet komt niet voor subsidie in aanmerking.
 Een Nierstichting (deel)programma of Call for proposals kan extra voorwaarden instellen voor budgets van aanvragen (bv. een maximumbudget voor projecten).
 Het budget van een aanvraag mag bestaan uit elke samenstelling van standaardpersoneelsjaren mogelijk binnen de voorwaarden van het relevante NSN Programma of Call for proposals.
 De PFM standaard-personeelsjaren alsmede een beschrijving van de categorieën zijn hieronder te vinden.

Voorwaarden
 De Subsidievoorwaarden Nierstichting Nederland zijn van toepassing. Betalingen volgen de
Subsidievoorwaarden.
 Het voorgestelde budget in een aanvraag dient proportioneel te zijn aan de verwachte feitelijke kosten van het project.
 NSN-financiering van een project is bestemd voor kosten die direct en eenduidig toewijsbaar zijn aan het project.
 Het financiële eindverslag van een project specificeert de uitgegeven bedragen. Eventueel overblijvende bedragen van het NSN-budget dienen terugbetaald te worden aan de NSN.

Aim
Establishing an uncomplicated model for the calculation of project budgets for research projects and practice projects funded by the Dutch Kidney Foundation (DKF).
Description
 The DKF Project Funding Model (PFM) determines the budgets of DKF research projects and practice projects (development and implementation projects). All grant application budgets should use the PFM.
 The PFM awards standard personnel years in different categories: NSP (Non-Scientific
Research Personnel (NSRP) (data managers, (research) nurses, laboratory technician / medical technologists), PhD Researcher (PhD student), Junior Researcher (junior postdoc and physician researcher) and Senior Researcher (experienced postdoc and medical specialist researcher); Project staff working at either WO, HBO or MBO level. One standard personnel year contains exactly 1.0 fte of the relevant personnel.
 An PFM standard personnel year is all-in. For the categories NSRP, PhD Researcher, Junior
Researcher and Senior Researcher asserts that besides the expenses for salaries of the researcher or non-scientific personnel concerned, additional expenses for consumables including laboratory animals, equipment, congress participation and PhD thesis support is included in the subsidy.
 A PhD student appointed within a DKF funded project that applies the DKF PFM is entitled to a contribution from the DKF grant to the thesis printing costs. The contribution is at most €
500,- .
 Personnel that is involved in the project for less than 0.2 fte (on a yearly basis) cannot be funded.
 A DKF Program or Call for proposals can set special conditions for proposal budgets (eg. a grant budget maximum).
 A research project proposal may apply for any mixture of standard personnel years within the limits posed by the conditions of the relevant DKF Program or DKF Call for proposals.

Conditions
 The DKF's general Grant Requirements apply. Payments are according to the Requirements.
 The proposed project budget is proportional to the expected actual project costs.
 DKF-budget within a project shall be spent directly and unequivocally on the project.
 The project's final financial report will specify spent budget. Remaining DKF-budget will be refunded to the DKF.
