(Approximately 180 days). Teachers must have a Secondary Education License and a CTE Endorsement (all CTE Endorsements are not eligible.) A CTE Intro 6-8 Endorsement is available for Elementary Education Licensed teacher. This teacher would have 2 years to complete the required course work set by the Specialist. Application for the CTE Intro 6-8 endorsement is required. See website. All Eight Program Areas must be taught. (T & E, Marketing, Ag, Econ, Bus, Health Science, FACS, and IT) Trimester rotations are strongly suggested. The Keyboarding class is not a part of the CTE Intro program. FUNDING Three Reports are required each year Report #1 Due June 1 – Request for Funding Proposal (RFP) - CTE Directors request funding for the program NEW programs must run for one year prior to application www.schools.utah.gov Funding Allocations – found on Funding Page Allocations Base amount plus percentage per student $2,000 1-10 students $4,000 11 or more students Funding cannot be used for salaries Funding is for equipment and supplies which support the CTE Intro curriculum Report #2 Due October 15 every year School Implementation Plan – CTE Intro Team completes this and sends it to the District CTE Director Report #3 Due June 1 every year End of Year Summary and Final Budget – CTE Intro Team completes this and sends it to the District CTE Director Implementation and End of Year Summary Forms Currently found on the CTE Intro webpage, but will shortly be electronic (Electronic form by Oct. 15) Supporting Programs Implementation Plan Form Sample Instruction CTE Introduction Implementation Plan Instruction Sheet Please note that this is a NEW CTE Introduction Implementation Plan. Please read it carefully and complete ALL sections fully, including teacher name, email and qualifying endorsement. Note 1: The form asks for the schedule of rotation at your school. IF you present CTE Introduction in any other format than trimester, you will need to officially request approval (form included). You will then need to apply and receive approval from the USOE each year to receive funding. Please note that CTE Introduction is designed to be a trimester course. Note 2: The new form asks schools to indicate the grade level of students in the CTE Introduction program. Programs not in compliance may compromise funding. Note 3: The new form asks for the CTE Introduction Team to identify the trimester in which each standard and objective is taught. This is meant as a planning tool to help teams identify that all standards are being taught during the course. This part of the form is in a simple checklist format. Date Reminders DATE REMINDERS: Fall – October 15, 2012: Turn in Implementation Plan with: Request for Approval (if needed); Proposed Budget Summary; names, e-mail addresses and endorsement information; standards and objectives checked off and signatures. (Keep a copy.) Spring – June 1, 2013: Turn in a copy of the Implementation Plan with the End of Year Summary(pages 3, 5-9) including the Final Budget Summary and signatures. Districts/charter schools may require these forms earlier in order to obtain required signatures. Quarter Rotations CTE Introduction is a seventh grade program. Please note that, as per Utah State Board Rule R277-700 – The Elementary and Secondary School Core Curriculum and R277-700-5 – Middle School Education Requirements, CTE Introduction is a Core Curriculum requirement. As stated in the RFP and Implementation Plan, CTE Introduction is a seventh grade program. The curriculum has been written on a seventh grade level. Funding for CTE Introduction is based on the enrollment count for seventh graders from the previous year.
