About Elizabeth Choy
• After she was being captured, she spent 193 days at
the old YMCA building.
• Japanese tortured her and even gave her an ‘electric
treatment’.
• Her selflessness made everyone admire her.
• She was awarded the Order of The British Empire in
1946 for her bravery.
• She was born in Kudat Sabah on 29 November
1910 .
• She passed away at the age of 96 in 2006 because
of pancreatic cancer.

• It was the first time of St. Andrew’s
150-year history, a wake was
allowed to be held on the Cathedral
premises.
• People created books of her heroine
