CONFIRMATION OF CENTRALISED PROCEDURE:
NEW APPLICANTS
All applicants will be evaluated prior to registration.
Based on submitted documents AME will evaluate to see
if student qualifies to study at UNISA and update the
record.
A letter/ email will be forwarded to student/Licensee
requesting correctly certified documents.
The student will also be informed if his application to
register for the 2 qualifications of his choice was
successful or not.
Student must submit documents before or on the day of
registration.
If any of the registration documents are outstanding
registration will not be allowed
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR APPLICATIONS FOR
EXEMPTION
• Original Educational qualifications or copies certified by the South
African Embassy/ High Commission/ Public notary or Registrar of
South African University.
• (Original translations into English or Afrikaans for foreign
qualifications)
• Certified copy of ID/ Birth certificate or Passport.
• Certified copy of marriage certificate/ divorce decree.
• Original Letter from Home Affairs for official name change.
• Provisional statement or results slips (e.g.O-Level) not acceptable
• Name declaration: Only if names on ID and school documents
differs.
• Travel documents not acceptable
ADMISSION TO DIPLOMA
To qualify for admission to studies for Diplomas, a student
must have a:
• Senior certificate
• NSC with entry level Diploma or Degree
• Student born in 1969 (45 years of age or older) for 2014
academic year.
• Student born 1991 (23 years of age or older) have 3 years
relevant working experience & in possession of standard 8/
grade10.

ADMISSION TO DIPLOMA: INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
• Students must meet criteria as indicated in the “Do
I qualify for admission to study for Diplomas. e.g
• O-Level: +23
• IGCSE: +23
• Qualify for a +23/ foreign conditional exemption
certificate
• Qualify for a full exemption certificate
ADMISSION TO BACHELOR’S DEGREE.
To qualify for admission to studies for a
Bachelor’s degree, a student must have a:
 NSC/ NCV with entry level Degree (No evaluation or
conditional exemptions)
 School Leaving Certificate with a Matriculation
Exemption/endorsement or
qualify for a Certificate of Conditional Exemption.
