 A student with a suspected vision or auditory
impairment may be on the Deafblind Census 1 year.
 Status of vision or auditory impairment must be
determined within this time
Other Considerations
 If a student is coded Deafblind (DB), and has a visual
impairment (VI) code, then the VI code does not need
to be listed
 If a student is coded Deafblind (DB) and receives
services from a Regional Day School Program for the
Deaf, then auditory impairment (AI) code must be
listed
 Deafblind (DB) should be listed first in order of
PEIMS codes
Consent for Release of Confidential
Information
 All students with a visual impairment must have Consent
for Release of Confidential Information from the
Registration of Students with Visual Impairments signed
 In addition, all students on the Deafblind Census must
have Consent for Release of Confidential Information from
the Deafblind Census signed
