INFORMATION FOR ACCREDITED JOURNALISTS AND MEDIA OPERATORS
1. AREA ACCESS
1.1 Priority access for accredited journalists and media operators will be from 4:30 to 6:00 a.m. on 27th April
2014 through one priority entrance to the security area around St Peter’s, on Piazza del Sant’Uffizio (see
map below). After 6:00 a.m. priority will no longer be guaranteed.
2. CLOSE RANGE PRESS STANDS
ORDINARY/PERMANENT and TEMPORARY Press Credentials
2.1 Access to certain sectors of St Peter’s Square, where they may follow the ceremony from together with
the faithful will be granted to all journalists with personal PRESS or FOTO press credentials.
2.2 Access to the Press Stand on the Terrace of the Braccio di Carlo Magno will be granted from 5:00 a.m. on
Sunday 27th April 2014 to:
- Journalists and media operators with VIDEO press credentials (max 2 per Press Organization) bearing
“Terrazza Braccio di Carlo Magno” Access Permits;
- Media operators with FOTO press credentials (max 1 per Press Organization) bearing “Terrazza
Braccio di Carlo Magno” Access Permits;
- PRESS journalists with ORDINARY/PERMANENT press credentials (max 1 per Press Organization)
bearing “Terrazza Braccio di Carlo Magno” Access Permits.
DELEGATION Press Credentials
2.3 Access to the Delegation Press Stand will be granted from 5:30 a.m. on Sunday 27 th April 2014 to:
- Journalists, press officers and media operators with a “Delegation” badge.
ORDINARY/PERMANENT Press Credentials
2.4 Access to the area at the bottom of the stairs on St Peter’s Square, called “Parvis”, will be granted from
5:30 a.m. on Sunday 27th April 2014 to:
- Media operators with FOTO press credentials (max 1 per Press Organization) bearing “Sagrato”
Access Permits.
A few minutes after the beginning of the Mass all above mentioned operators will be invited to take place on
the Terrace of the Braccio di Carlo Magno or leave the area.
2.5 Access to the area at the bottom of the obelisk on St Peter’s Square, called “Obelisk”, will be granted
from 5:30 a.m. on Sunday 27th April 2014 to:
- Media operators with FOTO press credentials (max 1 per Press Organization) bearing “Obelisco”
Access Permits.
3. ACCESS RULES
3.1 In all Close Range Press Stands:
- short interviews and stand-ups are permitted until 1 hour before the Mass begins;
- no live broadcasts are permitted;
- it is necessary to dress in attire suitable to the ceremony.
3.2 Further information, if available, will be provided as soon as possible.
