Who is SunBriteTV?

SunBriteTV introduced the first all-weather outdoor LCD TV in 2004, and today
is the leading manufacturer of outdoor television technology with a complete
line of 22-, 32-, 46- and 55-inch LCD TVs and displays designed for permanent
residential and commercial installations.

Our Company Founders: Larry Kaiser has over 30 years in A/V manufacturing.
His company manufactured commercial outdoor solutions including high-bright
LCD’s for quick-service drive-thru restaurant displays and outdoor LCD video
displays on top of taxi cabs in New York. Tom Weaver is an electro-mechanical
engineer and entrepreneur that brings more than 30 years of design
experience.


Before purchasing any TV advertised as an “outdoor TV”, be sure
to ask the following questions:

Is their TV certified by CSA, UL or CE for outdoor use? If not, there is
a good possibility that the TV has been modified or repurposed from
standard manufactured televisions.

Does their TV have a protective anti-reflective, scratch resistant screen
over the LCD screen?


Our TV’s are designed for permanent, all-weather, outdoor installation
and have been certified by UL or CSA for that environment.

An attractive and robust all-weather enclosure protects the TV’s
internal components from the effects of the outdoor environment. A
proprietary airflow slot arrangement around the perimeter of the screen
bezel functionally provides airflow both in front of and behind the LCD
screen to aid in heating and cooling and provides an attractive and
unique look to the product.

An anti-reflective tempered glass window protects the screen from the
weather and provides contrast enhancement for an improved outdoor
viewing experience. An innovative mounting scheme allows the front of
the TV to be easily removed and reinstalled in the field so that both
sides of the glass can be cleaned if required.

Dual (22” & 32”) or Quad (46” & 55”) fan air flow system cools unit to
122 degrees

An internal heating system warms the unit in cold climates and
controls condensation in humid environments. Heating and cooling
system intelligence is provided by SunBriteTV’s proprietary electronics
hardware and software thermostatically controlling and protecting the
TV to temperatures of –24 degrees.

The intelligent forced air cooling system keeps the internal
temperatures under control in hot environments and incorporates an
easy to clean long-life fiber filter that keeps out dust, insects and
moisture and can be easily removed, washed and reseated back into
the unit.


On models with aluminum enclosures, (Pro Line – 22”, 32”, 46”, 55”)
the speaker module can be removed resulting in a slim “picture frame”
appearance desired by many designers. This option is favorable when
audio is not needed or the customer prefers a distributed external
audio system.

32” and 46” HD 30-series models are built into an ASA plastic resin
exterior with a built-in speaker

All Pro line models have RS232 Serial – a full-featured command set
with on/off, input select and volume control.

The discreet IR control provides codes for on/off and input select (Pro
line and 46” 30-series model only).

On Pro line models, a fiber optic light path allows for a secondary IR
control window located inside the rear weather-proof cable area
providing a hidden hookup of IR control devices so a clean look is
maintained on the front of the unit.

Watertight cable entry system and cable pass through design ensures
easy hook-up to a wide selection of video inputs, including HDMI
connections, component, VGA, S-video, composite, RF, RS232 serial
and the discreet IR Control. Signal cables enter the TV’s through this
unique weather-proof sealed door. Special configurations of this door
provide commercial customers with a climate controlled space where
they can install various after market devices like media players and
closed circuit network receivers.


Installation Tip




The SunBriteTV LCD TV’s are designed for permanent outdoor
residential and commercial installation.
The corrosion-resistant, powder-coated aluminum exterior
protects the internal TV components from rain, dirt, insects and
other outdoor elements; however, we recommend that they be
installed in a shaded area for best and most comfortable
viewing.
The screen is not intended to face directly into the sun as it is a
large solar collector and the build up of heat in the LCD panel
due to sunlight hitting the screen causes the LCD fluid to stop
responding, thus you will begin to see black spots that will
spread until the TV is moved out of the direct sunlight or the
sun moves off the screen.
We always recommend that users mount the TV on an
articulating mount and to turn the screen away from the sun.
Installation Tip (cont)

When the TV is positioned so that the screen doesn’t face the
sun, the internal fans will lower the LCD temperature and the
black spots will go away.

There is NO long-term damage to the LCD or the TV when the
spots occur.

Our experiments indicate that turning the screen 45 to 60
degrees away from the direct sun will cure the problem, which
is more acute in the morning and afternoon when the sun’s rays
are at a shallow angle and can more easily fall perpendicular to
the screen.
