CONFLICTS- don’t get resolved because we talk to
everyone else except for the person with whom
we have the conflict (Matt.18:15).
PRAYERS- never get answered because we talk to
everyone else about our problems except for God.

THE GOAL OF PRAYER- to get the ‘EAR’ of God
HOW DO WE GET THE EAR OF GOD?- through
Jesus Christ
John 14:13 “And whatsoever ye shall ask in
my name, that will I do, that the Father may
be glorified in the Son.”

THE PRAYER OF JABEZ
1.)VS.9 Jabez is mentioned in only 3 verses of the
entire Bible.
-He is not highly visible.
-You don’t have to be seen for your prayers
to be powerful (Matthew 6:5-6).
2.)VS.9 Jabez means “SORROW;” his mother birthed
him out of pain.
-Jabez lived with the pain of his mother
-Most of the pain we deal with is not ours to
carry.
-WE GIVE THE PAIN BACK THROUGH
FORGIVENESS.

3.)VS.9 Jabez was more honourable than his
brothers.
-honourable means “to be heavy;” to
endure adversity.
-Jabez endured more adversity than any of
his brothers.
-Some of our greatest prayers are birthed
out of our greatest adversities!

4.)VS.10 Jabez asked for the following:
-Lord BLESS me INDEED.
-The Hebrew words are the same for “bless”
& “indeed.”
-They both mean “bless.”
-Why not ask God to bless us shonuff
double? (Eph.3:20)

5.)VS.10 Jabez asked for the following:
-Lord ENLARGE my coast.
-With increased territory comes increase
responsibility.
-More Seats > More Souls
6.)VS.10 Jabez asked for the following:
-Lord let your HAND be with me.
-HAND represents God’s power
-Except God’s power be with us, we can do
nothing.

7.)VS.10 Jabez asked for the following:
-Lord KEEP ME FROM EVIL THAT IT MAY NOT
GRIEVE ME!
-I’ve been through enough trouble.
-Isaiah 61:3 Give me beauty for my ashes,
the oil of joy for my mourning, and the
garment of praise for the spirit of
heaviness.
