Through organic growth and acquisitions Phoenix beverages has become one of the leading beer and alcoholic beverage wholesalers in New York. Phoenix has a history of integration and innovation. We have successfully adapted our sales and operations to meet the changing needs of our customer base 1951 Forbee Brothers was formed and was appointed as the distributor for Regent’s Beer 1953 Appointed Miller and Carling for Western Queens County 1956 Appointed Lowenbrau for Western Queens County and Carling Black Label (Red Cap Ale and Black Label Beer) for Brooklyn 1957 Appointed Miller for all of Queens County and Staten Island (Richmond County) 1959 Appointed Heineken for Brooklyn and Queens Counties 1980 Acquires Better Brands (Miller Brewing Co. Branch Distributor) which has Miller in Brooklyn 1981 Acquires Miller for Half of Manhattan (below 86th St.) 1982 Acquires Guinness Brands (Guinness, Bass, Harp) from the GBIC Branch Distributor for Manhattan (below 86th St.), Brooklyn, Staten Island, and Queens 1984 Acquires Heineken for half of Manhattan (below 86th St.) 1996 Acquires River and Suffern Distributing – Miller, Heineken, and Guinness for Orange, Putnam, Dutchess, Sullivan, and Ulster Counties 2000 Acquires Heineken and Miller for Bronx, Westchester, and the remaining part of Manhattan. 2005 Acquires Craft Brewers Guild Distributors, keeping Brooklyn Beer and divesting all Craft Brewers Guild Brands 2005 Acquired license to sell and distribute Wines & Spirits and began operations 2007 Acquires Brooklyn Brewery Products for Ulster, Sullivan, Dutchess, and Putnam counties.
