Eph 6:13; Therefore take up the whole armor
of God, that you may be able to withstand in
the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14; Stand therefore, having girded your
waist with truth…
Eph 6:14 (NIV); Stand firm then, with the belt
of truth buckled around your waist…
For the Roman Soldier…
• The belt was used to “gird” or bind his long,
loose robe tightly to his waist.
• It enabled him to fight unencumbered,
balanced and stable, without tripping over
himself.
For the Christian Soldiers…
• The Belt of Truth is the strength of our
character, our integrity.
• It’s what holds us together, and gives us our
stability, security and balance when
assaulted by the philosophies of this world.
• Colossians 2:8
If you don’t have a Belt of Truth…
• Character becomes careless, morals
become loose and integrity gets lazy
• We become an easy target for the enemy;
easy to trip up, easy to stumble, easy to
take down and defeat!
WORLDVIEW
• A “worldview” is the framework from which
we view and live our lives.
• It is your ideology, your philosophy of life
and theology.
• It is the “lens” through which you view
reality and make sense of the world.
BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW
• A “biblical worldview” is based on the
infallible Word of God.
• When you believe the Bible is entirely true,
and allow it to be the foundation of
everything you say and do.
SECULAR WORLDVIEW
• A “secular worldview” says, “I am my own
god and I decide my own truth; I determine
for myself what is right and what is wrong.
The bible is just a book, and church, God
are not relevant to my life.”

SALVATION: THE BIRTH OF A NEW WORLDVIEW
• It is the realization that there is a holy God,
and one day I will stand before Him.
• And now I will live my life with the view that
everything I do and say will be judged by
God.
• Hebrews 9:27 by God
ONE CANNOT BE A CHRISTIAN WITHOUT A
BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW (a change of mind)
• Romans 10:9-10
• Romans 12:2
• Salvation requires the transformation of
one’s worldview.
DO YOU HAVE A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW?
•
•
•
•
Do absolute moral truths exist?
Is absolute truth defined by the Bible?
Did Jesus Christ live a sinless life?
Is God the all-powerful and all-knowing
Creator of the universe, and does He still
rule it today?
• Is salvation a gift from God that cannot be
earned?
• Is Satan real?
• Does a Christian have a responsibility to
share his or her faith in Christ with other
people?
• Is the Bible accurate in all of its teachings?
• In a survey of professed evangelical, bornagain Christians by George Barna, only 9%
of "born- again" believers answered “yes”
to all eight questions.
A SAD REALITY…
• It is possible that our “Belt of Truth” can be
loosened. It can even “fall off.”
• Your Belt of Truth will be tested!d
