THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM Matthew 16:15–17 15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. Matthew 16:18–19 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” John 20:21–23 21 So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has 22 sent Me, I also send you.” And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive 23 the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” Colossians 1:13 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Matthew 6:14–15 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father 15 will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. 14 Mark 11:22–26 22 So Jesus answered and said to them, 23 “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have 24 whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also 26 forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses.” 25 Galatians 5:5–6 5 For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness 6 by faith. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love. Matthew 5:43–46 43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and 44 hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and 45 persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the 46 just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? CONFESSION TIME
