North of Shellard Neighbourhood + Recreation Plan
purpose
What is the Purpose of the North of Shellard Neighbourhood and Recreation Plan?
The purpose of the North of Shellard Neighbourhood and Recreation Plan is to complete a Plan to
guide the development of the North of Shellard Neighbourhood (an area identified as “Neighbourhood
Two” of the West of Conklin Secondary Plan area). The City of Brantford is one of the primary land
owners in this study area.
This study resulted in a Neighbourhood Master Plan and a Recreational Centre Master Plan, and
accompanying development and design guidelines to guide the development of the North of Shellard
Community.

North of Shellard Neighbourhood + Recreation Plan
response
What we learned at the Public Open House on September 13th:
1.
The community is anxiously anticipating the development of the
Institutional Complex and Recreation Centre components of the Plan.
2.
The design of the residential community was well received. The
community has a desire to see a different type of development from that which is
occurring within the south-west area and in the neighbourhoods south of Shellard
Lane.
3.
Overall, attendees were receptive and excited about the idea of having a
new Main Street destination area within the new neighbourhood.

subsequent reports for consideration and further direction.
