Firmware 2014-08-13 Release Notes
This document contains the improvements present in this new firmware for the Illumina E653
series compared to the previous version
New features

New user interface for the pop-up Reading Menu. The taskbar is now in the top of the
screen. By default the Go-To-Page function is opened and by pressing the icons in the
bottom of the screen you can adjust page settings (a.o. font) and screen rotation.

New pop-up available with important info / quick settings by touching the clock

The firmware utilizes the new Adobe Reader for reading PDF files. This reader is faster
and more stable than the previous version. It also features better page reflow.
Improvements / bug fixes






Some status messages were difficult to read due to low contrast between background
and text. This is now corrected
Improved translations in several items
If you accidentally change the Settings icon in the Settings menu you can still undo it
afterwards
Issue with wrong display of special characters in pop-up menus is solved
Apps are now alphabetically sorted automatically in the Apps menu
Improved Reflow in PDF documents: when increasing to very large font size the previous
firmware could cut off some text at the top and the bottom of the screen. This is now
fixed

Dit document toont de wijzigingen / verbeteringen ten opzichte van de vorige firmware
Nieuwe features

Nieuwe layout van het optiemenu tijdens het lezen. De taakbalk bevindt zich nu aan de
bovenkant van het scherm. De Ga Naar Pagina interface wordt direct geopend,
waardoor snel naar een pagina gesprongen kan worden. Door op de iconen onderaan
het scherm te drukken, kunnen paginainstellingen gewijzigd worden.

Nieuwe pop-up beschikbaar met belangrijke info (door middel van het aanraken van de
klok). Ook kunnen hier belangrijke instellingen snel gewijzigd worden.

Deze firmware gebruikt de nieuwe Adobe Reader engine voor het lezen van PDF
bestanden. Deze reader is sneller en stabieler dan de vorige versie. Ook heeft deze een
verbeterde Reflow functionaliteit.
Verbeteringen / bug fixes






Sommige meldingen op het scherm waren lastig te lezen door laag contrast
(achtergrond vs. tekst). Dit is nu opgelost.
Verbeterde vertalingen
Mocht per ongeluk het Instellingen icoon veranderd worden (middels de optie DesktopApps aanpassen) kan dit nu ook ongedaan gemaakt worden
Probleem met foutieve weergave van leestekens in pop-up menu’s is opgelost.
Apps worden in het App menu nu automatisch op alfabetische volgorde gesorteerd
Verbeterde Reflow in PDF documenten: snellere en betere reflow.
