Capital Improvement Projects 2014 A Snapshot of Current Construction Activity in the City of Irvine Rehabilitation of Campus Drive • Replacement of deteriorated asphalt roadway, sidewalk, curbs, median landscape and irrigation • Replacement of 140 mature Camphor trees • Target Completion Date – April 2014 I405 Landscaping and Monument Signs at Jamboree Road • Installation of gateway signage and new landscaping along both directions of I405 at Jamboree • Target Completion Date – September 2014 Widening of Barranca Parkway at Jamboree Road • Add additional lane on northbound Jamboree south of Barranca • Target Completion Date – July 2017 Barranca Parkway at The District • Add additional travel lane on westbound Barranca adjacent to The District Shopping Center • Target Completion Date – April 2014 John Wayne Airport Jet Fuel Line • Install a fuel pipeline connecting John Wayne Airport to existing Kinder Morgan pipeline in the City of Tustin • Target Completion Date – To Be Determined Southern California Gas Company Advance Meter Project • Installation of infrastructure to transmit usage data directly from the meter to the SCGC • Target Completion Date – May 2015 Sand Canyon Grade Separation Project • Lowering Sand Canyon under the railroad to provide a grade separated crossing • Realignment and widening of the roadway from four to six lanes • Target Completion Date – November 2014 Sand Canyon/I5 Widening Project • Add additional travel lane in each direction between Burt Road and northbound freeway on/off-ramps • Additional lanes to southbound freeway off-ramp and northbound freeway on/off-ramps • Target Completion Date – July 2014 Jeffrey Open Space Trail • Construction of three pedestrian overcrossings at Irvine Blvd, Trabuco, and Roosevelt. • Provides continuous path along the Jeffrey Open Space Trail for bicyclists and pedestrians • Target Completion Date - August 2014 Orange County Great Park – 688 Acres • 5-year proposal to build 688 acres of amenities – Sports Park – Bosque Area – Upper Bee Canyon Improvements – Wildlife Corridor – Golf Course – Agricultural Area – Trail Improvements Questions?
