It is a tradition for new graduates to sign their name on the walls of this room. What about yours? You get a unique opportunity to do this at the Open Day. Getting around Leiden A flying visit to the National Museum of Antiquities How do you find your way from one location to another? We can help you out! Our students are stationed at various locations in the city to help you find your way. An exclusive Open Day offer: enjoy lunch at the National Museum of Antiquities café or pick up a take away lunch pack. Have some time left? Then check out the 2000-year-old Egyptian temple in the entrance hall. If you show this flyer you can visit the exhibitions free of charge! Your parents may accompany you by either using their Museum Card or by purchasing a ticket. Tuk-tuk Tour 9.00-16.30 hrs Spread across the city Feel like being chauffeured around in a tuk-tuk? Several of Leiden University’s three-wheeled taxis will be driving around and can take you from one location to the other. During your ride, your driver will tell you more about this unique, bustling city. Surprises along the way! 9.00-16.30 hrs Square in front of the Pieterskerk, Hooglandse kerk, Academy Building and Leiden Central Station Need a bit of music or something special in between presentations? Take in the lively tunes and creative beats playing on various squares in the city. Lunch: taste the delights of Leiden See map for lunch locations Discover what a fun and delicious city Leiden is with a lunch for €10 or less at one of the town’s many restaurants. The lunch location at the National Museum of Antiquities is offering free admission to school pupils who show their programme booklet. Lunch is also available at two other Leiden University locations (Lipsius and KOG) between 11.30 and 13.30 hrs. More information can be found at leidslekkers.nl/opendag. Hop on the boat and see Leiden from the water Between 11.00 and 17.00 hrs. You can hop on/off at any the starting points (see map). The beauty of Leiden really shines from the water! At each of the four pick up points, you can hop on or off one of the boats. Each boat has a different theme: history & knowledge, music & culture or the student boat. Let the boat take you around the canals to the various locations while listening to famous Leiden speakers, singer-songwriters and students. Tour of the city with students Tours start: 12.00, 14.00 and 16.00 hrs. Gather at the “City and Student Life” stand (Pieterskerk) Take a walk through Leiden with students from the local student associations. You can even take a peek into a student’s room and a student association!
