M.U.S.T. Hostel aims to deliver a modern supported housing service which is flexible and has a holistic approach to the individual in order to meet our Service Users’ increasingly complex needs.” 2 Service User GROUP Single Experiencing Homelessness Male and Female 18-65 year olds Ex - Offenders ‘Bailee Service users’ Service users experiencing addictions Care leavers Those suffering from family/marriage breakdown 3 REFERRALS CAN COME FROM Self Friends & Family NIHE PBNI PSNI Social Services Other support services 4 LENGTH OF STAY Service users can stay in the Hostel up to 2 years which includes their stay in one of our 4 semi-independent flat if they are suitable for them Average length of stay for our Service users is 6 months to a year however this is steadily increasing. 5 AIMS AND OBJECTIVES It is the aim of the hostel to provide a structured, supportive environment for people experiencing homelessness. Incorporate support planning to facilitate intervention and address service users needs in engaging with relevant services. Allocate each service user with a link-worker to work on a one to one basis. Provide support in reference to benefits, employment and training opportunities. 6 AIMS CONTINUED... Assessment and development of life skills To develop social and recreational opportunities through appropriate external agencies Active Resettlement process with more support towards more suitable long term living. 7 HOW SERVICE USERS ARE INVOLVED IN THE DELIVERY OF QUALITY ASSURANCE Assessment of reviews i.e. support plans needs assessment and resettlement process Compliments and complaints procedure Empowerment Choice Privacy and confidentiality Weekly residents meeting Fundraising opportunities Participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Award 8 GATHERING INFORMATION FOR THIS PRESENTATION Internet Speaking to a social worker that we currently work with and who works with 16+ team.
