Learning Keys:
• Become familiar with what Poverty Reduction Strategy Papers and
how they are formulated;
• Position your country’s PRSP in relation to other development
priorities. E.g. The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)
• Have a better understanding of the objectives of the Tackling
Poverty Together (TPT) project and its efforts to support the
contributions of young people in eliminating poverty.

Poverty Reduction Strategies:
• Initiated in 1999 by the IMF & World Bank
• Contains consultation process, description of
poverty, action plan and ideally targets,
indicators and a budget.
• There are approximately 66 countires
worldwide with PRSPs.

PRSP? If so, what can you share about its contents?
• What do you think about the five core principles that are supposed to

comprehensive, partnership oriented, and long-term perspective)? Are
there others you would add?
