Social Justice?
• Are Christians to be social? Yes! Lk.10:29• to live in companionship with others or in a
community, rather than in isolation

together and had all things in common.

that they are endowed by their Creator
with certain unalienable Rights, that
among these are Life, Liberty, and the
Pursuit of Happiness.” USA

each according to his needs.” Marx

and good evil
• George Orwell; Political language—and with
variations this is true of all political
parties, from Conservatives to
Anarchists—is designed to make lies sound
truthful and murder respectable, and to
give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.
• John Adams stated: “Abuse of words has
been the great instrument of sophistry
and chicanery, of party, function, and
division of society.”
What’s the Difference?
• “Social justice” is often a euphemism for
socialism justice or Gov’t control and
often isn’t justice at all, but injustice!
• Affirmative action? Quotas and
preferences, not best qualified!
• Abortion – fair for who? The innocent?
• “Living wage” – Chicago teachers $68k
• Slavery reparations?

• We Conservative Christians are willing
to affirm true justice in society!
• However, are Liberals willing to address
widespread corruption of welfare,
Medicare…laziness…!! The Bible does!
• 2Th 3:10 For even when we were with
you, this we commanded you, that if any

affliction, and to keep oneself unstained
from the world.

widows; not less than sixty years of age,
having been the wife of one husband…

moneybag he used to help himself to what
was put into it.
What about Spiritual justice?
• 2Cr 8:13 For I do not mean that others
should be eased and you burdened, but
that as a matter of fairness
• 2Cr 8:14 your abundance at the present
time should supply their need, so that
their abundance may supply your need,
that there may be fairness.
• Should non tithers have same voice as
those who sacrificially give?
• Should we expect spiritual justice!!
God expects…

'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of
the least of these my brothers, you did it
to me.'

with tax collectors and sinners?" And
when Jesus heard it, he said to them,
"Those who are well have no need of a
physician, but those who are sick. I
came not to call the righteous, but
sinners."
“Christian” “Idolatry”
• Ever inverse the 1st and 2nd
Commandments? Ever love men above God?
Glory of self?
• Do you give to Charities or Ministries?
• Give a man a fish – feed him for a day,
• Teach a man to fish – feed him for a
lifetime,
• Introduce him to the Fisher of men and He
can live abundantly and Eternally!!
Never substitute a
smaller cross for the
blood stained one!
Jer 8:11-12 They dress the wound of my people as though
it were not serious. "Peace, peace," they say, when there
is no peace. Are they ashamed of their loathsome
conduct?
Suffering is the symptom, Sin is the Disease! Only Jesus
can cure our greatest problem – preach the gospel!
There’s a Difference!
• Between Gov’t and the Church! Godless
Bureaucracy compared to godly and
personal relationships! Strict guidelines.
• Forced taxation and true “charity”
1 Cor.13, Motives are everything!
• Rewarding the unproductive or not
paying any tax (contributing) and
punishing the risk takers and inventors
• Welfare and gleaning (workfare)
We all know about the…
• Greedy Capitalists and arrogant rich!
• Welfare cheats and abusers
• Couple who got divorced to get more
gov’t $ and a second trailer
• Christians abusing extended
unemployment, sickness, injury…
• Exorbitant costs of healthcare to cover

of law and there’s no room for him?
• Please give us exact numbers of what is fair!

benefits when those paying in for years get
nothing?
Before it’s too late
• First they came for the rich, and I did not
speak out because I was not rich,
• Then they confiscated owners of properties,
and I did not speak out because I did not
own property.
• Then they took away our right to bear arms,
but I didn't speak out because I didn't have
guns.
• Then they came for me and denied me my
freedom of speech and religion, and there
was no one left to speak for me,”
Christian Idolatry?!
• Many seek to reverse the curse of Sin on
man’s terms! Cure all disease, change men’s
hearts, no one hungry or homeless…
• Many seek a premature attempt to usher
in the Millennial Kingdom without the King!
They will hate His rule and revolt in time!
Rev.20, Ps.2
• Many are distracted with a lesser good in
place of our higher calling! Exaltation,
Edification, Evangelism!
Euphemisms
• Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes said that a
good catchword can stop thought for 50
years.
• T.S. Eliot said, long ago: "Half of the harm
that is done in this world is due to people
who want to feel important. They don't
mean to do harm -- but the harm does not
interest them. Or they do not see it, or
they justify it because they are absorbed
in the endless struggle to think well of
themselves."
Islam = Social Justice
• However, Robert F. Shedinger, a professor at
Iowa’s Luther College, has a different
argument. He thinks Jesus was actually…a
Muslim. Yes, really. In fact, he wrote a book
explaining all about it:
• Got that? According to Shedinger, Islam is a
“social justice movement,” not a religion, and
since Christ supposedly supported “social
justice,” that makes him a Muslim. To quote
him, “I came to the conclusion that [Islam] was
a social justice movement and I think that’s who
Jesus was in the first century so I conclude
Jesus is more like a Muslim.”
