Receiving high praise and no less than 5 letters of appreciation Darren found time to take a break… Bonito Lake Dam, 10 lbs heavier, receding hair line, same ugly mug, Sierra Blanca NM, 1984 Having been assigned to a Mobility squadron Darren was selected as a primary deployment team member. Holloman AFB NM, SrA, 1986 Darren soon accelerated his OJT and 5 Level upgrade to become one of the most valuable members of the Structural Repair and Inspection (SRI) section. More like a geek hop!!” NM, SrA, 1986 Darren’s ability shot him to the top of the food chain within his section. His supervisors suggested he select choice tasks and high level maintenance to give him a challenge… Yes it’s true, Darren does walk on water. Here’s proof! His supervisors recommended him for a self imposed job, setting his own hours and completing a task worthy of full recognition… Vroom, Vroom!! “You can’t go any where until you get it off the center stand dummy!!” 4449th MOBSS, Holloman AFB NM, Buck Sgt, 1987 Darren took the challenge, set in motion a plan, and achieved his greatest accomplishment. He single handedly constructed a model of a Bare Base measuring 8ft x 12ft, encased in glass. Computer Services of Warrensburg Mo, 1999 His knowledge and popularity growing, Darren opens his own business; H-10-K Enterprises. He begins working for himself within the Whiteman community area. He assembled a clientele of over 7 major accounts and 250 area residents and business workers… Always on the job!, Whiteman AFB, TSgt 1999, “Yes dad I’ll fix your CPU when I’m on leave, I’ll drive the train to get there.” His computer talents go mostly unused during the year 2000 then he is placed into the Organizational Computer Managers position and given the opportunity to excel… The Hensley Virus in it’s native environment!, 509th MXS, TSgt, 2001 The Hensley Virus with his new intelligence deflector belt. It glows when it’s working “I swear Sir it’s not infected with the Hensley Virus!!!” After a short tour as Squadron Security Manager, Darren was returned to his section to continue his tradition of driving to meet mission requirements… Say we’ve seen this before!!! In addition to his business and contributing to the squadron functions as team member of the “B” bowling team achieving 4th place over all, and giving time to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization, Darren finds the time to care for his pet cat… His cat Glitch after his flying lesson “Oh great is he going to throw me again? What a dumb @$$!, Go ahead and break my other leg!!” KnobNoster, Whiteman AFB MO, 2002 Darren nearing the finish of his carrer, reflects on his proud and selfless commitment to his country. His supervisors, nearing the ends of their ropes, contemplate how to get this mad man out of their way so they can get the job done… Darren’s final recognition remains a legacy to the career he gave. With the advent of the CPMS database, Deployment Support database, and the Bare Base Model, Darren’s name will live on into the future of the Air Force yet to come… Just how to pigeon hole this stuff is yet to be discovered.
